Trophy III
Trophy III is the third version of a primitive (fire, food on a spit, animal hunted etc) sculpture, yet, it is a little Modern at the same time. I have been keeping the top piece of limestone on a steel rod for about 20 years. I had always visualized using it vertically and then I was walking by it this past week having just unearthed the base piece of solid steel. Looking at the base I realized that it was similar to the previous two Trophy’s and then eureka!, If I use this base with this stone and steel piece and these two solid rods with bends and gashes (I love the implied and very physical, history) I have this new sculpture Trophy III. Steel is welded and painted, limestone is as found. Size 42″h x 24″ x 8″.
