Palette I, 2020 is in oil paint on a piece of weathered plywood. I like the reference to an actual palette that has been well patinated in time and paint. I often use palettes or similar items in my larger more complex work. Every once in a while I enjoy painting with oils and the rewards of the process. The rule is in almost all of my work as a reminder of the rules in play and the almost drafted drawing line and part that drawing takes in creation.
Palette I, 2020, 22″ x 20″, oil on plywood, $1800.
