Out of the Pan

Out of the Pan, as a title has it’s origins in the expression “Out of the Pan and into the Fire”. In this case it refers to the part of a cast iron pan that came out of the lake (Ontario) and into the fire, as in being welded to the other components of this engaging work. The sculpture was indeed built around the pan.
