An Affinity For Infinity and Reflection

This acrylic on canvas was completed Dec 30 2018. The title references my affinity for space/ infinity. The staircase at the bottom near center is an acknowledgement of previous work where I created a space and stairs drawn from one of my recurring dreams as a child. The line / rule off center, but level, alludes to my penchant for equalibrium. To me it is a portal into the painting. The block of slightly metallic paint refers to the detritus of history and experience that we carry about. Space is full of history and there is actual history of previous paintings in this portrayal. X, Y and Z are present to remind us of 3-d space and of the importance (to me ) of triangulation. Note the collaged bits and triangulation again.

An Affinity For Infinity and Reflection, 2018, 72″ x 90″, acrylic and collage on canvas  $9000.
